School Days

Tyler is doing AWESOME in school still. 4th grade seems to be his year. Every day he has been doing great. I stopped his teacher yesterday when I picked him up to ask how things were going and she said - "Tyler is the student that I look at every day and say to myself what did I do right to get a student like him." Can you believe that?? What a super nice comment to make. She said that he is a "phenomenal" reader and "so bright!" I could not be more proud. I don't know what has gotten in to him but he has definitely made a change for the better. You can tell he is proud of himself too. WAY TO GO TYLER!!!!

Tyler the Alter Boy

Tyler has decided he wants to be an Alter Boy. This is funny for so many reasons. He has been going to class for the last two weeks and he still seems to like it. I think it is so cute! However.... you know your child is not meant to be an alter boy when in church on Sunday he did the sign of the cross like this: In the name of the father - he touches his forehead, son - he touches his chest bone, holy - he circles his right nipple with his finger, spirit - he circles his left nipple with his finger. Amen. He is bad to the bone!

Pics

I'm not exactly sure what he is doing in this picture although it appears he is looking at Nay-nay's butt!

I wish I could turn this one the right way - but you can see the little cutie looking like a million bucks in his new suit!

This is in Orlando - he has a new fascination with Nascar and wanted me to take his picture by this car.

Tyler's Teeth

Tyler had an appointment with the orthodontist yesterday and he said that Tyler had his last tightening on his retainer! yeah! So the cross bite is fixed but he wants us to come back in 3 months to discuss braces! Oh boy.

Back to School

Well, it was a short summer. At least it seemed like it to me. Tyler was actually glad to be going back to school. I think he missed his friends. He got the teacher he wanted and is in class with his best friend Gregory. He has only been back for two weeks, but he is doing so awesome. He has not had his name on the board once and has been earning marbles every day. His teacher I guess has this reward system that they can earn marbles and the marbles fill up a fish bowl. I'm not sure what happens when the bowl gets full but they seems to be trying hard to fill it. He has even earned two in one day before! He gets so happy about it. On the first day of school he got one because there is a new girl in his class and she told them that she was Mexican and Tyler said, "I'm Mexican too!" I guess the teacher thought that deserved one for making her feel like she wasn't different than everyone else. I think the girl was probably wondering what the heck he was talking about!

He's been having a lot of homework every day but most days he finishes it in class or does not give me any grief to get it done. His teacher even told me that he is doing better than everyone in the class on his math time tests. When I told him that he was so proud! He said, "mom, I think I am actually the best student!" I told him I thought so too - but he needed to keep it up. Ever since then he has been gung ho getting all his work done and doing such a good job. He asks me every day if I still think he is the best student!

He's been awesome with Peter lately and Peter cries for his "brrr brrr brrroo" every day when Tyler goes to school. I tell Tyler and he loves it!
The picture is from when we were in the Keys eating at a restaurant called Blue Heaven. The roosters walk all around while you are eating!

SORRY!

Geez - It's been awhile. I have been so busy it seems like I never have time. That is no excuse. I need to keep up with this. People might start thinking that Tyler is not being interesting or something. Not so. He is enjoying his summer right now, dreading the fourth grade. He's been pretty good, but pretty sassy. He's still as funny as ever. Last time he was mad at me he started crying and said, "I need some respectness!" Nice. He is spending the week on the beach with Max and Linda living the good life. We plan on taking a summer vacation soon, so he will have had like 4 weeks of vacation! Lucky boy.

Yankee Tyler

This is one of those pictures that are just priceless. I know it's all blurry and hard to see - but you can just see the excitement on Tyler's face. This was taken when we went to the Devil Ray's game vs. the Yankees. We had awesome seats right behind the Yankee dugout and every time the inning was over the Yankee players would run into the dugout and throw the baseball they used for that inning out into the crowd. Every time Tyler would run down there but he never got the ball. I was just praying he would get one. This game was also significant because Tyler's favorite player is Gary Sheffield and I guess he has been out injured for some time and this was the game he came back in. Anyhow, Sheffield got the last out and ran into the dugout with the ball and just tossed the ball right to Tyler. You can imagine how excited he was. He caught the ball in his glove and came running back. I cried I was so happy for him. Not only did he catch a baseball from the yankees, he got one from his favorite player.

Sibling 101

Here is Tyler at the big brother class we took at the hospital. He wanted no part of changing the baby diapers - but what a long way he has come!! He was really good in the class - he paid attention and even participated.

3rd Grade

This is Tyler's first day of third grade. Laugh if you want, but this is the only picture I have and I can thank my zoom lens for it!! He was acting so cool he wouldn't even let me enter the classroom much less take pictures!

Arabian Nights

This was when we went to see Arabian Nights in Orlando. Tyler really liked the horses, but I don't think he was crazy about the show.

Scalloping

Is that a word? This is the day we went out with papa and Lilly on the boat to find scallops! Tyler learned how to drive the boat and mastered snorkling! We found a ton of scallops and Tyler thought that was pretty cool.

Tyler's New Baby Brother

Tyler and Peter. Tyler is an amazing big brother. I knew he would be. He always comes running when he is crying and even changed his diaper!! He is so proud and so sweet.

Sorry...

Sorry it's been awhile. Things have been crazy. I have a whole bunch of pictures to post, but in brief..

Tyler has been struggling somewhat in school. Everyone says that 3rd grade is a big adjustment from 2nd so I guess he is just dealing with that. This is the first year that he gets letter grades and he even got an F on one of his papers!! How was that for a shock?! He just got his report card and he got 3 A's and 2 B's. I was pretty happy with that. It's not that anything he is doing is even hard for him, he just likes to rush through things and answer questions without reading them and things like that. I have to remind him constantly to pay attention. He is still super bright and cheerful. He is still loving and sweet. I had a parent teacher conference with his teacher and she told me that he is so sweet and even is making an attempt to be friends with a child that no one else will be friends with. She said that Tyler tries to invite him into games they are all playing and even encourages him to do his homework! I guess the boy is pretty bad but she said that Tyler tries to encourage him to do the right thing. The only problem we have is that the other day he didn't do his homework and Tyler did not want him to get in trouble so he gave him all the answers!! Of course the teacher caught them and told them they could not do that.

He's not playing any sports right now, but I need to get him in something soon. He plays outside a lot and practically takes his bat everywhere he goes. He has been dying to play baseball.

I think he is so over my being pregnant, he used to like the count down and now he just seems annoyed. One quick story..

For Halloween we were trick or treating - Tyler the police swat guy and me as his prisoner and he had his heely's on so he was going really fast and was way ahead of me. At one point I noticed he had a long face and i asked him what was wrong:

T: I fell and you didn't even know!!
R: Well, I'm sorry I didn't see you - are you OK?
T: You didn't see me because you were walking so slow with that big huge belly!!

Nice.

I think he is just ready for this baby to come. He is super sweet about the baby things and the baby so I can't wait to see what a great big brother he will be.

Maybe he's not so sweet..

Last night I was watching my soap operas and Tyler passed by as one of the soap ladies was on the screen and Tyler said, "Wow, mom - I wished you looked like that!" So I said what do you mean?! And he said, "you know, not fat."

Sweet Dreams

I woke Tyler up this morning to get ready for school and he said to me, "Mom, I just had the BEST dream!" I asked him what it was and he said his baby brother was born! Is he so sweet?? He said baby Peter was following him around giving him trash to throw away.
