Decorating the Tree
What fun! No, really it was fun. I LOVE decorating the tree, and for the first time ever I think Tyler loved it too! He was really into it. When we take out all the ornaments we talk about each one, and I tell him things about why he got that one or why I got that one and this time he seemed to actually care and asked questions and even remembered some of them. I was so happy. We had the Christmas music going and he even got happy when they played the little drummer boy. (That is one of the songs he will be performing in the Christmas program, so he knows it and sang along. His favorite part is the ba rumpa bump bum and boy does he sing that part loud!) It was just a great night. He still needs to work on the ornament placement, but he does pretty good. Mike rearranged them in some places. We finished pretty quickly, but tonight we put the candy canes on. Can't wait for that one! He was already pressuring me to start on the advent calendar - he is just going to be in hog heaven tomorrow! Na-Na bought him an advent calendar that each day you open this little drawer and there is a treat in there, so that should be good. Good ol' Na-Na forgot to put treats, so I guess that will be my duty! That's OK, I will work on that.

Weekend with Na-Na
On Friday, Tyler stayed with my mom and Deborah for the day. I guess they decided to hit the stores. (Something you will surely NOT find me doing the day after Thanksgiving!) Anyway, Tyler suckered Na-Na into buying him a set of about 50 guns! GREAT! I swear, not letting this child play with guns when he was younger is my biggest parental mistake. All he ever wants to do now is play with guns. He says he just loves to play "Army". Oh yeah, he also wants to be in the Canadian army when he grows up. Nice. Well, I guess that would be a good army to be in, since they do NOTHING! Anyway, Saturday we went shopping at the mall and Tyler got the video game Ratchet and Clank 3. Of course Na-Na bought that too. He is SOOOO happy. He loves that game! He first got sucked into the game at my dads house because he has it there, but now the magic gets to be at home too! Last night we picked out our Christmas tree and every year I let Tyler pick out the tree. So far I have had some real doozies. One year he picked out a tree that was probably 4ft tall and 4ft wide. It was like a hedge bush. It was so funny! I tried to talk him out of it, but he would not have it. He even cried so the man gave us a discount and a free tree stand! (I think he thought I wasn't getting it because I couldn't afford it.) Last year, he choose the ultimate Charlie Brown tree. I mean this thing had parts missing and branches sticking out all over, it was hilarious!! He choose the tree, but I took him all around the place showing him every tree thinking that he would get confused and then forget the tree he wanted, but of course he went right back to it every time. It was so funny I just had to get it. So, needless to say I was pretty nervous this year. We walked into the tree lot and he choose the very first tree he found. It was so beautiful! It is the most perfect tree. Even he told me that this was the most perfect tree he had ever seen! It was so cute. I took him to look all around to make sure, but he insisted on that one. I was happy too. Of course when we got in the car, driving away with the tree, he said he found a more perfect one. Oh well, there is always next year!!

Thanksgiving Break
Tyler was loving Thanksgiving break this year! Monday he spent the day with Papa and Nita, he really knows how to work those two. He always gets them to feed him whatever he wants. (This pretty much consists of pretzels and pop tarts.) He played video games until he couldn't play any more. Tuesday, he spent the day with Deborah and there is another person he knows how to work. She took him to the store to buy him a toy and took him to see her new house. Oh yeah, and she told him about Hanukkah and now he wants to be Jewish. GREAT! I hope he doesn't go back to school and tell his teacher. God bless Deborah, she tries so hard to be in Tyler's good graces. She finally did it. Last Friday he brought home all his Thanksgiving art projects and one thing was this collage of all the things that he is Thankful for and at the bottom he wrote a whole thing about that. He wrote how he was thankful for mom, dad, his house, boy scouts, his teacher and at the end he wrote that he was thankful for Deborah too. Of course I called her and told her right away. I think she may have cried. She hates Matt because he does nothing and Tyler loves him, and she buys Tyler a bike and he could care less. But, he is finally coming around. He told her the other day that he really loves her. And, it helps that he is mad at Matt for making him watch a scary movie! Wednesday, he stayed over at Kyles house. Better Jodi, than me! I would have killed those two. They get so hyper and loud together! When I picked Tyler up after work, he had lost his voice. He sounds so funny. I told him he must have been screaming all day to lose his voice. Crazy. For Thanksgiving, we had the whole clan over for our 1st Thanksgiving in our house. Mike's sister Lisanne and her husband Bryce came from Canada with their new baby Anelise. She is so cute. Tyler wanted NOTHING to do with her. I was actually shocked because he always tells me he wants me to have a baby so that he can have a brother or a sister. I then tell him to call his dad. I think Scott should supply the brother or sister, not me! (Actually I pray Scott does not reproduce any time soon.) : ) Anyway, he really wasn't into the baby. Mike's mom, Elizabeth came over, my dad and Nita, and Nita's son Dusty and his girlfriend Jade. It was a fun time. I cooked like no other! I know, I know you are having a hard time believing this, but it is true! I was being Betty Crocker. Everything turned out good too. Some things not very pretty, but still good. My mom and Tabor came in last night at about 8, so we got all kinds of family around! It was a good time. Tyler is going to get my mom to take him shopping today. That should be interesting. When I left for work at about 8, he was already getting dressed and ready to go. The lengths he would go to get toys are unbelieveable!

Tyler was dragging
Well, Tyler must have had a big weekend. Me and my dad and Mike went to see him at his soccer game on Saturday and he was just draggin! He didn't even seem like he wanted to be there. He would get like little bursts of energy and run after the ball, but he would slow down after a little while. I felt so bad for him. I think he was hot, tired and cranky. He cried when the game was over because he wanted to come home with me. I hate when he does that because of course I feel so bad for him, but we had plans and I hate to take away from Scott's time as well. What a pain. Anyway, he went to Kyle's birthday party and I guess had a lot of fun. Me and my dad and Nita went to pick him up from Scott yesterday afternoon, and he was at the Ale House with Matt and Scott. He was funny because he kept going from table to table. He seemed pretty happy to see papa. He was going to stay with them today because he is out of school for the Thanksgiving break. My dad told him they were going out to buy a video game. Tomorrow he is going to aunt Deborah's!

Big Weekend
Well, Tyler had his den meeting yesterday after school and when I asked him how it went he was so excited!! He said they ate M&M cookies! Wow! It's the small things I guess. He was so happy about that. I have no idea what else he did, but at least I know he was nourished! : ) He has a huge weekend with Scott. I think Scott wants to kill me, but oh well. He has a soccer game at 12 on Saturday and then a birthday party at 3:30. It is his buddy Kyle's birthday. (Not the neighbor Kyle, another one.) They are having the party at Gameland on Clearwater beach, that should make for a bunch of happy boys - nothing like VIDEO GAMES! Then, on Sunday Tyler has a "Go See It" with the Boy Scouts to go to a comic book convention. They are doing that because it is collecting month. Cute huh? Anyway, when I told Scott about all the obligations he had, he didn't sound too pleased. Oh well. Welcome to my world!

Big Boy Scout Meeting
Last night was Tyler's Big Boy Scout Meeting! This is the meeting that we have with the entire pack. It is also the meeting they have once per month where they get all the belt loops and patches that they have earned. Tyler was excited for that. He earned 3 belt loops - Astronomy, soccer and football. He earned those while we were on our camping trip last month. He also earned his first time camper badge and his scouting for food badge. Scouting for food was just an event where he had to take bags and fill them with non-perishable food for St. Vincent de Paul's. At first at the meeting they announced a whole bunch of boys, but they left out like 4 and wouldn't you know Tyler was one of them!! He turned to me with this sad face and I was about to kick some Boy Scout butt!! I was so mad. It broke my heart to see him get so sad. He worked so hard too. Anyway, Charla, our den mother, went and told them they left some kids out and they announced Tyler and the others. Whew!

Soccer Loss
Well, Tyler played his first soccer game for this season and got his first loss. Boy, was he mad! At first, I thought he was just mad because Scott made him late to the game, but after digging some more I think he was mad because one of his classmates was on the other team. When Scott dropped him off at Keira's baby shower I rushed out to see him and asked him if he won, he had his mean face on and said, "No, we lost! AND Iwas late!". Whoa! He came in and didn't want to talk to anyone at the party. It was funny because I have never seen him be so mad before. I mean he is very competetive, but he doesn't really carry it with him for too long. Once he told me that Matthew M. was on the other team, it finally started to add up. Poor thing. He also took his soccer pictures on Sunday. He looked so cute, I hope they turn out nice.

November 12, 2004 - God Bless America
Today Tyler had a special ceremony at school for Veterans Day. (Since they were out of school yesterday.) They had morning prayer and the pledge out on the blacktop. After that, they had all the first graders sing God Bless America, and do the sign language to it! It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. Tyler was looking so cute and proud up there. Boy, he was reminding me of Scott so much!! All his mannerisms are exactly like Scott. He did a good job. I felt bad I did not bring my camera, but I had no idea it would be like that!
